At the University of Vienna, entrance exam procedures are carried out for the following master programmes:

 Required documents

You need (regardless of your citizenship and the country of issuance of your degree)

as a JPEG or PNG file:

  • your passport or personal ID card (front and back)

as separate PDF files:


Application period for the academic year 2021/22:

  • over since 3 May 2021

Admission period for the academic year 2021/22:

  • winter semester 2021/22: from 12 July to 30 November 2021
  • summer semester 2022: from 10 January to 30 April 2022

 Semester start

  • winter semester: 1 October
  • summer semester: 1 March

Schedule of the academic year

The application for any of these degree programmes is done in u:space and is possible only once a year within the application period.

Between 30 and 50 university places are available per year, depending on the degree programme of your choice. The allocation of available places is carried out by the selection panel.

Even if an application includes documents from non-EU/EEA countries, no proof of special university entrance qualification is needed.
