Master programmes with selection procedure
The selection procedures differ, depending on the degree programme. They may require, for example, a statement of purpose and a curriculum vitae (CV). A written entrance exam is only conducted in the master programme in Psychology.
At the University of Vienna, selection procedures are carried out for the following master programmes:

Required documents
You need (regardless of your citizenship and the country of issuance of your degree)
as a JPEG or PNG file:
- your passport or personal ID card (front and back)
as separate PDF files:
- your bachelor certificate and your transcripts
- a translation by a court-sworn translator (if not issued in English or German) and the the required legalisation for the issuing country of the above mentioned documents
- curriculum vitae (not required for the master programme in Psychology)
- letter of motivation (not required for the master programme in Psychology)
- proof of German language proficiency or English language proficiency and any further requirements prescribed by the curriculum of the degree programme of your choice
- proof of German language proficiency at level A2 (if you apply for the master programme Psychology)

Application period for the academic year 2022/23:
- over since 3 May 2022
Admission periods summer semester 2023:
- from 9 January to 31 March 2023
Application period for the academic year 2023/24:
- from 1 March to 17 April 2023
Admission periods for the academic year 2023/24
- Winter semester 2023/24: from 10 July to 31 October 2023
- Summer semester 2024: from 8 January to 31 March 2024
The application for any of these degree programmes is done in u:space and is possible only once a year within the application period.
Between 30 and 50 university places are available per year, depending on the degree programme of your choice. The allocation of available places is carried out through the admission procedure.
