Entrance exam procedures for applicants with disabilities

It is important to us that all prospective students have equal access to our range of degree programmes. Does a disability or impairment limit your ability to take part in the written test for a master programme with selection procedure? We will provide you with individual support and adapt the test to your needs.

On this page, we will show you what you need to bear in mind, how to report your needs and what deadlines apply. Please let us know your needs directly when you submit your application so that we can work together to create the best possible conditions for you.

How do I submit my request for special testing accommodations?

Step 1: Become informed about the necessary steps to register for the entrance exam procedure

Select your desired degree programme among the list of master programmes with selection exam procedure. There you will find detailed information about the required documents, step-by-step instructions for submitting your application and everything you need to know about the selection procedure.

Step 2: Submit your request for testing adaptations in your application for admission

Once you start submitting your application for admission in u:space you will find a link to submitting your request for adaptations in the written test. This link leads you to a form in the Servicedesk. State your needs there and describe which adaptations you require. Afterwards you can upload the confirmation by a medical specialist (descriptive form). We also accept assessments of psychotherapists and clinical psychologists.

Upload all required documents in u:space and submit your application.

You have questions about requesting adaptations? Message us via the Servicedesk

Step 3: We will review your request for special testing accommodations

You will receive written notice via e-mail within a few days. Each type of disability is unique. Adaptations to testing will be made on a case-by-case basis. Hence, we will coordinate any special accommodations and their technical implementation with you. You will receive further information about the selection procedure via e-mail.

Example: adapted test in a smaller testing venue

  1. No later than 14 days prior to the exam date, you will receive an e-mail containing your invitation to the written test (“Einlassbestätigung”) and a layout plan of the testing venue. This e-mail will also contain details about the items you are allowed to have with you during the exam.
  2. The invitation will also tell you the time frame in which the exam will take place, as well as your assigned entry point to the testing centre. We will pick you up there, and you will be escorted to your testing venue after we have verified your identity.
  3. Upon arriving at the testing venue, you will be given a couple of minutes to accommodate yourself. Once the exam procedures begin, the test administrators will announce the instructions, including all the details regarding the examination process. Next, the exam materials will be handed out and the exact starting and ending time of the exam will be announced. There will be at least one supervisor present at your testing venue throughout the duration of the exam.
  4. Upon conclusion, the exam materials will be collected and their integrity verified. At the end, we will escort you back to the exit.
  5. Once all exams have been evaluated, you will receive an e-mail informing you about your next steps in the admission process.
