Economic Policy: an Introduction (Extension Curriculum)

Economics deals with the description and analysis of human behavior against the background of limited resources with different uses. Knowledge of economics helps to recognize the micro- and macroeconomic aspects of decision-making problems and to develop adequate solutions to such problems.

The aim is to give students an overview of the most important fundamentals and questions in economics and to explain to them how economists generally work. The characteristic properties and institutional framework conditions of economic decision-making problems are outlined and the influence of state decision-makers is discussed.

After completing the course, students are able to understand simple economic and economic policy contexts and to interpret discussions and communications with economic content. In addition, they can assess the importance of economic circumstances for their private and professional decisions and align them accordingly.

The courses take place in German or English. In order to be able to follow the English courses, level B2 is recommended.
