Access to the IT services
The University of Vienna offers several master programmes that are jointly established with other universities/universities of applied sciences. The admission to these degree programmes is carried out at the partner university. Subsequently, you will be automatically admitted at the University of Vienna via co-registration through official channels ("amtswegige Mitbelegung”). You do not have to apply for co-registration yourself.
To be able to register for lectures, use the library and your webmail, you need access to our IT services
Step 1: Admission at the partner university
Complete the admission procedure at the partner university. The application and admission deadlines as well as the entrance exam and admission procedures depend on the admitting institution. You can find details on the corresponding website.

Registration in u:space
Our tip
The University of Vienna sends all information regarding your studies to your u:account e-mail address. Set up auto-forward to your private e-mail address for e-mails sent to your u:account e-mail address, so you do not miss any messages.
Step 3: Wait for the transmission of data
The co-registration through official channels is carried out automatically. Your data is transmitted to the University of Vienna via the Austrian Federal Computer Center ("Bundesrechenzentrum"). This can take up to five working days.
Subsequently, you will find your student documents (student record sheet and confirmation of enrollment) in u:space > Personal Matters > My documents. As soon as the co-registration is carried out, you have access to the IT services of the University of Vienna.
Message us via the Servicedesk, if your student documents are not available in u:space five working days after your admission at the partner university. Attach your student record sheet of the partner university to your message.
Step 4: Use the IT services
You will be able to plan your semester and register for courses, as soon as your access to the IT services is activated. You can find the registration deadlines in the course directory u:find and in u:space. The StudiesServiceCenter (SSC) and the StudiesServiceUnit (SSS) of your degree programme are happy to help you with any questions regarding courses and exams.
Don't forget to order and validate your u:card, the student ID of the University of Vienna.
