How can I apply at the University of Vienna?
You would like to study at the University of Vienna? How you apply for admission and what requirements you need to fulfil depends, amongst other things, on your chosen degree programme.
Here you can find out how to start a bachelor’s, diploma or master's programme – from choosing the right programme, through deadlines and requirements, to submitting an application for admission to a degree programme. That way, you'll start your studies well informed.
Your steps to a bachelor's, diploma or master's programme
-
Step 1: Find your programme
Find your ideal degree programme! Each degree programme has its own page – the study profile.
There you can find out what the programme is about and what makes it special. You’ll also find a concise overview of deadlines, study places and the entrance exam or selection procedure, where applicable.
-
Step 2: Keep an eye on the deadlines
The application period depends on two factors:
- Is an entrance exam or selection procedure conducted in this degree programme?
- Which citizenship do you have?
Check which deadlines apply to you straight away!
-
Step 3: Check the requirements
The study profile will take you to the admission info and, for master's programmes, to the Master Access Guide (MAG). There you can find out about the requirements, e.g.
- the required documents,
- the language proficiency and
- the application period for the programme.
You've checked everything? Now all that's left is to apply!
-
Step 4: Applying well informed
All documents are prepared and the application period has started? Then you're ready to go!
Apply by submitting your application for admission to a degree programme via u:space, the University of Vienna's student portal. Make sure to upload all required documents in full.
We look forward to your application!
