German Language: Structures, Developments, Functions (extension curriculum)

Language shapes the way we think, learn and live together. In this extension curriculum, you will analyse the German language systematically and using established methods, and apply your knowledge to real-life communication situations.

What is it about?

You will gain an understanding of key areas of German linguistics and German as a foreign or second language – from grammar and meaning to language use, variation and acquisition. The programme focuses on concepts, models and methods that enable you to analyse and reflect on language.

In addition, you can tailor your studies to your own interests: choose courses from the wide range of German linguistics and/or German as a foreign or second language. This allows you to combine theory with your areas of interest.
