Procedure on the day of the written test

Step 1: Entry at the Messe Wien

Please note: Only those with a permission to attend are allowed to enter the Messe Wien. In this permission and in the access plan you will find information about your access to the test hall. The entry is organised in stages via several entrances.

Only use the entrance intended for you! We will check your identity. Therefore, please have your passport or personal ID card and your printed permission to attend on hand.

Be punctual and pay attention to your entry time (on your permission to attend). If you arrive late, you will be excluded from the entrance exam procedure. Alternative dates are not possible!

Step 2: Entry into the test hall

To enter the test hall, we will scan the personalised QR code on your permission to attend. You are not allowed to leave the test hall after this. You can find toilets in the test hall. Please note: Smoking is not permitted.

Step 3: Personalised seat

You can only reach your personalised seat at the Messe Wien via the entrance assigned to you. Please go directly to your seat in your allocated sector. Supervisory staff will help you find your sector and seat. You may leave your own seat to go to the toilet, but you may not go to any other seats.

Step 4: The written test

Only explicitly permitted items may be placed on your desk during the test. Before the test begins, you will receive detailed instructions on how to proceed. The test duration is stated on your permission to attend. You can find sample tasks and possible questions on our website about test details. For all studies (except Psychology), impressions of the test day at the Messe Wien and study tips are also available.

Step 5: After the written test

You will find the expected end of the test day on your permission to attend. For organisational reasons, you are not allowed to leave the test hall early. Please take this into account when making appointments and travelling plans. You can obtain time confirmations (for military service, civilian service, etc.) electronically after the written test via our Servicedesk.

We will inform you of your test result and your next steps in the admission procedure via e-mail.
