History (master's programme)
Understanding history, interpreting the present, shaping the future. On the master's programme in History, you will deepen your specialist historical knowledge and research skills. You will choose a specialisation – ranging from Ancient History to the Digital Humanities – and prepare for careers in academia, cultural education, the media, and the archive and museum sectors.
What is it about?
The master's programme in History focuses on independent academic research. You will research international specialist literature, formulate academic research questions, systematically analyse sources and data, and present your research findings clearly and persuasively. In doing so, you will draw on theories from the fields of history, the social sciences and cultural studies. Whether it be the history of science and contemporary history, economic and social history, global history or women’s and gender history: you will contextualise phenomena across different eras, compare geographical contexts and engage in critical discussion.
