Interdisciplinary Ethics (master's programme)
What is it about?
During your degree, you will systematically deepen your understanding of philosophical ethics and broaden your horizons to include related fields such as legal, environmental and technological ethics. Right from the start, you will work with academic methods, analyse arguments precisely and develop your own research questions. There is a clear focus on your research skills: you will plan projects, evaluate the literature in a targeted manner and apply theories to specific cases.
The interdisciplinary approach combines philosophy with theological ethics, legal ethics and other relevant approaches. In this way, you will learn to assess complex conflicts from multiple perspectives – ranging from climate policy and AI regulation to issues of social justice. The aim is to equip you with sound specialist and methodological knowledge of ethics as both an academic and a normative discipline. You will practise engaging precisely with different positions, hone your argumentative writing skills and present your findings clearly. By the end of the programme, you will have a solid grasp of the theory and be ready to conduct independent research – with a broad base of knowledge and a keen sense of responsibility.
