Physics (master's programme)
Inspired by the pioneers led by Nobel Laureate Anton Zeilinger: the English-taught master's programme in Physics offers you a direct entry into practical research. You will refine your academic profile in a chosen specialisation and develop solutions to problems ranging from the nano to the cosmic scale.
Insight into the degree programme
Building on your bachelor's programme, you will specialise according to your individual interests within the faculty’s research profile and gain practical experience in independent scientific work. Your areas of specialisation may include, for example:
- Mathematical physics
- Theory of fundamental interactions
- Condensed matter physics and (computational) materials physics
- Statistical physics & soft matter physics
- Quantum physics and quantum information
- Nuclear and isotope physics
- Environmental and aerosol physics
You will further develop your expertise in research-oriented methods of experimental, theoretical and computational physics, including programming, data analysis, simulation, machine learning and image processing.
