  • How do I plan my studies and organise my semester?

Once you have completed the admission procedure, your next step is to prepare for the first semester. Register for courses in due time. You can find out which courses you have to attend during your degree programme in the curriculum of your degree programme.

In u:find, our course directory, you can find all courses offered by the University of Vienna during the semester. any degree programmes also organise an orientation course for first-semester students at the beginning of the first semester. You will also be informed about this in u:find.

On our website you can find an overview and tips on organising your studies and planning your semester.

If you have any more questions about organising your studies or registering for courses and examinations, please contact the StudiesServiceCenters (SSC) and StudiesServiceUnits (SSSt) responsible for your degree programme.

  • I want to start my studies in the summer semester. What do I need to keep in mind?

Admission in the summer semester is only possible if you have successfully participated in the admission procedure in the previous year or are exempt. There is no separate procedure for the summer semester.

The aptitude assessment for the bachelor programme in Teacher Education is valid indefinitely. Once you have successfully completed it, you can be admitted in the relevant admission period of the following winter or summer semesters.

If you start in the summer semester, your steps in the admission procedure are the same as described in the points above.

  • What happens if I renounce my study place?

You do not want to accept your study place because you are, for example, starting another degree programme? By doing so, you enable a person on the waiting list to start the degree programme. However, if you still want to study this degree programme, you will have to take part in the admission procedure again.

  • Unfortunately, I only have a spot on the waiting list. Is there still a possibility to study this programme?

Yes, if someone renounces their study place. The place will be offered to those on the waiting list in order. We will contact you by e-mail and you will decide within a deadline whether you accept the study place.

If there are no places available for you and you are still interested in this degree programme, we wish you the best of luck for the next entrance exam procedure.

  • Can I still be admitted to another degree programme?

Yes, that is possible. To do so, you must have applied for admission to this degree programme within the application period and fulfil all admission requirements.

  • Do you have any further questions?

You haven't found all the answers on our website, or something is unclear? Don't hesitate to message us via our Servicedesk.
