Computational Science (master's programme)
Building bridges between theory and experiment: the English-taught master's programme in Computational Science equips you to carry out computer-based modelling of complex scientific problems. You will combine mathematics, computer science and the natural sciences – and, using numerical simulation, data-driven methods and high-performance computing, gain new insights when experiments reach their limits or theoretical concepts cannot be solved analytically.
What is it about?
Building on a previous study in natural sciences, mathematics or computer science, you will complementarily expand your competences in numerical mathematics, programming and algorithms, and computer-aided methods in the natural sciences. Building on this, you will deepen your expertise in the numerical modelling of subject-specific problems, data visualisation and validation, and data-driven methods. You will develop algorithms and software for the efficient simulation of complex systems, as well as for the analysis of models and data. You will think in an interdisciplinary manner, bringing together expertise from various subject areas and connecting specialists from different disciplines.
