Islamic Religious Education (master's programme)

Combine Islamic theology with educational practice. In the master's programme Islamic Religious Education, you will deepen your theological knowledge, further develop your teaching competencies and explore the role of Islam in a pluralistic society.

What is it about?

On the master's programme in Islamic Religious Education, you will qualify as a teacher of Islamic religious education at secondary schools in Austria. You will learn to convey Islamic content in a contemporary and accessible manner, to take gender equality into account, and to engage respectfully in dialogue with other religions and worldviews.

You will deepen your knowledge of the exegesis of the Qur’an and the Sunnah, of pedagogy and models of religious education, and of the history of Islamic intellectual traditions.
