Korean Studies (master's programme)
With K-pop in your ears, Hangeul before your eyes and ancient dynasties in your sights: the master's programme in Korean Studies brings together language, theory and digital humanities. You will explore the country’s traditions and global influence using primary sources, and gain a deep insight into Korea’s history, society and culture.
What is it about?
You will engage in-depth with modern Korea, with a particular focus on developments in the 20th and 21st centuries. You will refine your language skills for academic and professional purposes. You will work with theories and methods used in Korean studies. You will learn to reflect on academic findings from both a historical and methodological perspective. Through Digital Korean Studies, you will deepen your competences in digital working techniques: you will model data, analyse text corpora and visualise results. You will ground your knowledge in an interdisciplinary and international context and present Korea-related knowledge in a way that is tailored to specific audiences.
