Psychology (Bachelor)
Graduates of the bachelor’s programme in Psychology have a grasp of the principles of scientific psychology and can evaluate these critically. They are able to apply their basic knowledge of natural, human and social sciences and to expand their knowledge independently, if necessary. In addition, they are able to adequately use and evaluate psychological work and research methods. Moreover, the degree programme provides students with the necessary skills to familiarise themselves with specific tasks. They are able to identify problems in the field of psychology and contribute to the development of approaches to academic solutions.

The bachelor’s programme in Psychology consists of an Introductory and Orientation Period (STEOP), two groups of compulsory modules on the core subjects of psychology, one group of compulsory modules on the methodological foundations and foundations of psychological assessment, one module on the different fields of application in psychology and the module Vocational Preparation. To successfully complete the programme, students have to write a bachelor’s thesis.

After Graduation
In addition to subject-specific knowledge, students in the degree programme gain key competences that are relevant both for the career start as well as for consecutive academic studies. Graduates are not qualified to practise independently as psychologists according to the Austrian Psychologengesetz (psychologists' act, BGBI, No. 360/1990).
