Admission Procedure
Study programme
The bachelor's programme in Social and Cultural Anthropology starts with an Introductory and Orientation Period (STEOP). The STEOPs of the degree programmes in Political Science, Social and Cultural Anthropology and Sociology consist of a unified module in social sciences, and a subject-specific module. The Introductory and Orientation Period is followed by a phase covering the basics of the discipline (core issues, central fields of research and history of theory in anthropology) and an advanced phase (methods, regional competences, application-oriented fields of research and current issues). To successfully complete the bachelor’s programme, students have to write two bachelor's theses.
