Hörsaalzentrum (lecture hall centre) on the Campus of the University of Vienna

The lecture hall centre in Hof (court 2) on the Campus of the University of Vienna, which can be easily recognised by its large glass fronts, is not only home to the lecture halls C1 and C2. The foyer has been refurbished and furnished and now offers opportunities to take a seat and relax.

Tina Wintersteiger and Elisabeth Zeininger, two students of architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, designed different furnishing options for the foyer. The students were allowed to vote on the drafts. The final FLOOP model received almost two thirds of the votes.

FLOOP is a combination of L-shaped tables and benches – the seats are made of wood, the substructures are made of shaped tubes – which can be combined and put together as required. This creates diverse and flexible work and communication areas.
