Student Spaces and study rooms at the NIG
Following the completion of minor restoration measures, students can use two new Student Spaces on the 7th floor of the NIG (Neues Institutsgebäude, Universitätsstrasse 7) from 15 October 2021 onwards. You can reach the two Student Spaces via staircase 1 and staircase 3. The lift near staircase 1 enables barrier-free access. You can either reserve seats or use non-bookable seats and standing places.
The two Student Spaces have been organised in a cooperation between the Facility and Resources Management (RRM) and the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL).
Student Space 1:
- 66 bookable places for study groups in 11 bookable cubicles
- 2 accessible individual workstation
Student Space 2:
- 66 individual workstations
- 4 accessible individual workstations

Obtain information about the support for students provided by the CTL.
Using the Student Spaces
- You can use the rooms (136 seats in total) from 8:00 to 21:45.
- Please read the information about studying on site.
- You have to reserve a seat.
All students with an active u:account are eligible to reserve a seat. - The group study places in Student Space 1 will be available for individual bookings, if Student Space 2 is not available due to events.
